Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Health HR UK Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2028.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2024
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Health HR UK Ltd has not previously assessed or reported emissions. As a small, fully remote consultancy with minimal travel and paper usage, this reporting period will act as our baseline year.

Scope 1: Likely to be zero because we don’t have company vehicles or office energy sources.

Scope 2: Likely zero because we don’t operate an office and employees work from home (their energy use is not our direct purchase).

Scope 3:

Home Office Energy Use (10 Employees):

10 employees × 0.05 kWh/hr × 8 hrs/day × 220 days = 880 kWh annually.

Conversion: 880 kWh × 0.212 kg CO2e/kWh (UK average) = 186.56 kg CO2e (0.19 tCO2e).

Public Transport (Infrequent Travel):

Assume 5 trips/year of 200 km x 10 (employees) each by train:

Total CO2e= 5 x 200 x 0.041 x 10 = 410kg CO2e (0.41tCO2e)

Cloud-Based Services:

Estimate ~0.05 tCO2e annually based on minimal energy use by cloud data centres.

Scope 3 Total=0.19+0.41+0.05=0.65tCO2e (rounded).

Baseline year emissions:
EMISSIONS  TOTAL (tCO2e)
Scope 1  Likely to be zero because we don’t have company vehicles or office energy sources.
Scope 2  Likely zero because we don’t operate an office and employees work from home (their energy use is not our direct purchase).
Scope 3

(Included Sources)

0.65tCO2e
Total Emissions  0.65tCO2e

Emissions reduction targets

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 0 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 100%

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

Health HR UK Ltd has already implemented the following measures to reduce our carbon footprint:

Remote Working: Elimination of office-based energy usage (heating, lighting, etc.) by operating as a fully remote company.

Public Transport for Travel: Employees travel to client sites infrequently and only using low-emission forms of transport such as trains.

Cloud-Based Systems: Utilisation of energy-efficient, cloud-based HR solutions to eliminate the need for on-premise servers.

Minimal Paper Usage: Strict policies encouraging digital-only documentation to minimise printing.

Energy-Efficient Devices: Adoption of energy-efficient laptops and equipment across the business.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

Consider Green Suppliers: Explore renewable energy providers and sustainable suppliers for any home-office-related energy consumption.

Employee Education: Introduce initiatives to educate employees on energy-efficient home working practices and sustainability.

Enhance Technology Use: Continue leveraging virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams to eliminate unnecessary travel.

Partner with 9Trees, through donation and volunteering: Their vision is to tackle climate change by restoring new woodland habitats and promote biodiversity.
